Terms of Reference

The Committee is to inquire into ‘smart infrastructure’, assessing its significance and impacts with particular reference to:

  • the effects of applying ‘smart’ technologies to existing infrastructure to improve asset utilisation and make better use of existing infrastructure

  • the productivity enhancing effects of embedding ‘smart’ technologies into future infrastructure

  • any factors which affect the adoption of ‘smart’ technologies

  • how smart infrastructure applications can assist in reducing the effects of climate change

  • the role of government in smart infrastructure development, investment, regulation and community engagement
