Inquiry into Norfolk Island Electoral Matters
The reference for this inquiry lapsed when the Committee ceased to exist
at the dissolution of the House of Representatives on 8 October 2001.
On 1 November 2000 the Minister for Regional Services, Territories and
Local Government, Senator the Hon Ian Macdonald, requested that the Joint
Standing Committee on the National Capital and External Territories inquire
into, and report on, laws relating to eligibility to vote and candidature
for the Legislative Assembly of Norfolk Island.
