Inquiry into Norfolk Island Governance
On 31 March 2003 the Minister for Regional Services, Territories and Local Government the Hon Wilson Tuckey MP, asked the Committee to inquire into and report on measures to improve the operations and organisation of the Territory Ministry and Legislature on Norfolk Island, with particular emphasis on the need for a financially sustainable and accountable system of representative self-government in the Territory.
The Committee invites interested persons and organisations to make submissions addressing the terms of reference by 2 May 2003. In order to facilitate electronic publishing of submissions, the committee would prefer them to be emailed or sent on disk to the secretariat, if possible.
