Inquiry update
The inquiry was advertised in August 2003 and written submissions invited.
A number of submissions have been received so far.
Drawing on written submissions, on 28 November 2003 the committee conducted a
public hearing in Canberra.
The hearing addressed a number of themes contained in the
National Road Safety Strategy (pdf),
the
National Road Safety Action Plan 2003 (pdf)
and the
National Road Safety Action Plan 2001
and 2002 (pdf).
A further hearing will be conducted on 11 Februaury and the committee expects to finalise the report in the first half of 2004.
